Hey people! It's Jesica with your first ever Themed Blog! We started this new thing here at FGW where we have a weekly theme and we all blog about that. This week's theme is Characters Vs. Actors! By the way, this means the characters vs the actors take on the characters not the actors themselves. I know I kind of did this already but now I'm going to go more in depth. Here we go!
Dan Vs. Harry
Book Harry is a lot more comfortable and normal. He has friends, he talks to people in the hallway, he loves Quidditch and it's like his number one priority. He plays chess and gobstones and exploding snap. He's a lot more happy. He jokes. He laughs. He's sarcastic. He's a real teenager (that just happens to be a wizard). Although, Book Harry is probably a LOT more happy than most teenagers. Even though his life sucked for a long time, when he finally found where he belonged, he definitely appreciated it more because of his suffering.
Dan makes Harry more of the gloom and doom teenager. He only cries once (and lets face it, Dan can't fake cry) but he gets mad a lot more easily. He can't control his anger. He angsts around all the time and doesn't seem to have a normal moment in his life. When do we see Harry turning in homework? Almost never. Although, Dan does have his moment, like his sassy retorts and sometimes he goofs around. Also, I recognize that most of the "normal teenage life" moment had to be cut out for timing reasons.
Emma Vs. Hermione
Book Hermione was definitely not as pretty as Emma that's for sure. Not that that's Emma's fault but yeah I just thought I'd address it. Emma actually does Hermione pretty well. She's bossy at sometimes and happy and friendly at others. One thing I must address, is that Emma makes Hermione a lot more willing to break rules and also, Emma makes Hermione a lot more friendly than Book Hermione. Hermione would be horrified at the thought of breaking rules and would have to have a VERY good reason for it to be ok. Emma is more like "No, we shouldn't do it. But ok, whatever." And Hermione is a lot less shall we say "chatty" than Emma is. Emma is all laughy and smiley and happy and friendly. Hermione is more "ok we can talk but after I finish this essay. And read this book. And finish your potions essay. So if you'll excuse me..." I personally like Movie Hermione better than Book Hermione because, as I said she's happy and friendly. Bravo Emma.
Rupert Vs Ron
Rupert, like Dan, makes Ron more grumpy and whiney than the Real Ron. Movie Ron, at least as the movies go on, gets more distant from Harry and spends more time mad at Harry than he is actually friends with him. This bothers me a lot. Especially in the last few movies. He's more enamored with Hermione than with his freaking best friend. What happened to Brothers Before Others? Is that not a thing in England? Harry has a lot more problems than Hermione and Hermione is the only one that stuck with Harry and instead she fell for the grumpy ginger. Go Figure.
The first few movies were probably the most accurate of all of them, character wise. Hermione was bossy, Ron was friends with Harry, and Harry was happy and stuff.
That's about it I guess.
O yeah! I need your help, readers, to come up with weekly themes for the blogs! Comment ideas for weekly themes that you would like to see us do! If we do your theme, I'll give you a shout out in my blog post!
Thank you! Happy... um Commenting?
